Modular Homes vs. Traditional Construction

Traditional Construction
There are quite a few advantages of modular over traditional stick built construction. Both are equal when it comes to quality however.
Benefits of Modular Construction

- Modular homes are built indoors in a controlled environment inside. Since modular homes are built in a factory, all materials are not exposed to the elements like with stick built construction and all carpenters are working in a climate controlled work place.
- Modular is faster. From order placement, a modular home can be set on its new foundation in as little as 6 weeks. There are some things that need to be done on your lot, but depending on how elaborate you can be moving in just a few weeks after it is set.
- All walls are built standard with 2” x 6” construction. This is not only stronger, but allows us to install R-21 insulation on all exterior walls. R-38 is standard in all ceilings. For a traditional construction R-13 is standard on walls and R-30 for ceilings.
- Since each modular section or mod is built in a block like fashion, this allows for added space between floors, which aids in floor-to-floor noise reduction. This block built construction also makes the home much stronger to hold up to the forces of nature.
- Price. Since modular homes are built in a controlled environment, with no weather related delays and factory production inefficiencies, the price is often as much as 30% less than conventional construction.
